Unimpeachable information gathered by the IN PROFILE DAILY indicates that Information Technology (IT) materials intended for the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare have mysterious disappeared allegedly from a 20-foot container. According to the information, the container arrived at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare late Wednesday, February 17, 2010, and was discovered virtually empty with only three cartoons of American Powered Conversion (APC) when it was unsealed for offloading. The Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) yesterday launched the second report of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) at the LEITI Office at the Finance Ministry in Monrovia. Launching the report, LEITI Chairman and Finance Minister Augustine K. Ngafuan named the critical success to the report as the support of every Liberian to read and use its contents to contribute to the shared quest for accountability and transparency. According to Minister Ngafuan, the second report represents a significant milestone in the implementation of EITI in Liberia and the world at large, because it is the first EITI report to include the disclosure of payment by agriculture concessionaires.
