The scars of beatings and other harsh prison treatments meted out against Liberian progressives many years during the struggle for multiparty democracy are still visible but those who suffered the wrath of authorities in the past seem to smell isolation which has prompted one of the Progressives to set the record straight.

BERNICE DAHN CHALLENGES MEDICAL STUDENTS

Speaking at the honoring and pinning ceremony of several graduating nurses and lab technicians, a day before the graduation ceremonies of the Stella Maris Polytechnic, the Chief Medical Officer of Liberia, Dr. Bernice Dahn called on medical students to take the profession seriously if they are to be successful. Dr. Dahn noted that there are challenges in the field that the young graduates needs to rise up to in serving the public with distinction and diligence.

CHEVRON TO EXPLORE DEEPWATER LIBERIA

The Government of Liberia announced Friday, August 27, that it has entered into an agreement with the Chevron Corporation to explore three deepwater concessions in Liberian waters.  Under the agreement, the company will conduct a three-year exploratory program that is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2010.
