Authorities at the General Auditing Commission (GAC) say at no time did the Ministry of Finance give US$200,000 of the US$ 500,000 exclusively provided for by the National Legislature to the GAC during the fiscal period 2009-2010.

UNMIL FORCE COMMANDER AWARDS MEDALS

UNMIL Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Sikander Afzal on Friday, 11 June, traveled to Freetown, Sierra Leone to participate in the medal award ceremonies for 150 officers of the Mongolian Guard Force stationed at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Lt. Gen. Sikander who represented the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, awarded UN peacekeeping medals to officers of the Mongolian Guard Force for their dedication, sacrifice and contribution in ensuring security of the Special Court for Sierra Leone.
