About a week ago, we tried contacting the Director of the Liberia Domestic Airport Authority (LDAA) to make public the management agreement between it and the Lockeed Martin group to no avail.     According to Mr. Richlieu Williams, he was not clothed with the authority to release such document to the press and that our request should be directed to the Ministry of Transport.  We have and continue to try our best in getting a copy of this glorious agreement that is supposed to beef up our standing in this region as it relates to airport management.  But, as is in cases like these in this country, we have been meeting stone walls along the way in our humble efforts to have what should already be in the public domain available.  Our need to read a copy of this agreement stems from the fact that Liberians have been told blindfolded before.Signatories and those entrusted to protect our interest have left us hanging by the wayside while they line their pockets to the detriment of the masses.  While we recognize and respect the name Lockeed Martin, we are not too sure if the deal entered into is in the interest of the Liberian people at large. We are leery that the contract or agreement might be overly slanted in favor of Lockeed and may end up being a financial loss for the Liberian People. We respect the hard work LDAA Authorities are doing in trying to rebuild our aviation image in the sub region.  We respect the zeal with which they have attacked the huge task of rebuilding damaged infrastructure and needed capacities. In the same token, we expect transparency in the discharge of their duties; such as making public the contract for one of the leading sources of revenue generation in this nation.   Therefore, we call on the Honorable Minister of Transport, Alphonso Gaye and his staff at the Ministry of Transport and LDAA/RIA to make the contract/agreement available to the public without delay, minus any security related portions not fit for public consumption.
