More critically reviewed from various dimensions, using the best of one’s judgment, the democratic leadership of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf can certainly not come under any heavy weight blame-shifting for unfolding events that may have occurred in Liberia during the last six years, either intentionally or out of orchestrations by individuals or groups, evolving principally from the multiple faces that have since surfaced under the guise of providing expertise in pursuit of the national thrust at reconstruction.
Not at all becoming boastful of a vision since had during the mid-1990s, something that has since practically proven real in every sense and ways, in spite the conspiratorial involvement of faked-identification of many, the drilling unattended by institutions that ought to be protecting lives and property but leaving the ill-practices unattended will certainly have themselves to blame in both the short and long-term, especially from the spiritual domain. Identification of elements within the midst of the population, ingrained and still uncivilized as many truly are, acquirement of mere theoretical education can and will never be considered an end in the learning process, moreso with a developing society such as Liberia still on its knees and trying very hard to walk. No longer a secret and having visionarily seen with bare eyes past and late Presidents of the Republic, particularly the late Dr. William V.S. Tubman, the Rev. Dr. William Richard Tolbert, Jr. and Dr. Samuel Kanyon Doe, perhaps medically considered as hallucination as means to misdirect the things of God for reasons they will have to later pay at the gate of Heaven, citizens continue to day-dream in the supernatural world about prolonged life expectancy when it is strictly within the confine of the Creator. With thousands, if not millions blinded to unfolding events within the spiritual realm, no matter how ongoing the local security sector is gradually being restructured, continuing insecurity posed on the lives and property of many well-meaning citizens continue unabated and cannot continue to remain a matter of augmenting strengths of the local security sector or the provision or more logistical support. Long upheld and practiced upcountry, something that is still upheld, that there are indeed witches that are identified within the setting by trained traditionalists within this context, although believed worldwide, city centers in Liberia are now being used for such dark-world practices and leaving only the faithful to defeat the very demonic forces. Very stupid it may sound, though, mores with nonentities possessing such characteristics wanting to always remain at posts to orchestrate such evils in the sight of God, where then comes the anticipation of citizens in an under-developed and developing world to have a 100 per cent clean government? Perhaps many may just have to read Flames of Fire, a religious publication, to understand how God moves in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. Amidst strides in which many have had to lay down their lives, especially in full defense of peace, stability and democracy, recording individuals like the late Information Minister Hon. Jenkins Peal, Dr. Advertus A. Hoff, Keikura Bayoh Kpoto, Dr. Amos Claudius Sawyer, Dr. Togba Nah Tipoteh, the late Mr. Melvin Thornes, Mr. Bai M. Gbala, the late Mr. Gabriel Baccus Matthews, former Youth and Sports Minister Hon. Francois Massaquoi, Mr. Chuchu L.M. Horton, among others, where now comes the need for new models for political decision-making in a prevailing but restoring democratic atmosphere in which younger generation may certainly not be practically aware about, other than conducting mere research as means to acquiring theoretical knowledge? Purely hinged upon either computational linguistic, logical based decision, bureaucratic politics or, especially in the current period, cybernetic models, with competence and explanatory models providing spectrums in which the situation determines the option, Liberia may just as well be faring on grounds upon which survival becomes the fittest on aimless basis. Long learnt in the study of democracy that elite repression is a threat to democratic values, with the threat becoming greater in periods of mass unrests, when elites convince themselves that their repressive acts are necessary to preserve the political system, it ought not to be viewed in the least context as damaging to the image of the Unity Party-led government but as withstanding all odds in neutralizing that which may have over the short six years subjected the population to usury by very deceitful and jealous elements, contributing most times to baseless condemnations. For now, however, and amidst the intriguing moments being witnessed in the national life in which multiple faces have since surfaced with the intent of continuously reneging on what they have come to indoctrinate others thereat, the rule of law becomes the best whip in weeding them out, since there are no longer real prisons in the country for traditional rehabilitation of the elements involved. |
