Barely twenty four hours after Liberian journalist joined the world over to celebrate world press freedom day, the President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Musa Bility was instrumental in apprehending the Managing Editor of the Complete and kick-off Sports Newspapers Roland Mulbah.


Journalist Mulbah who is the current Secretary General of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) was arrested early Friday afternoon May 4 2012 at the entrance of the headquarter of the LFA in Monrovia while on the verge of attending the May edition of the LFA monthly press conference.


The Liberian sports journalist was served a writ of arrest on charged of forgery and was then taken to the Temple of Justice and subsequently to the Monrovia Central Prison where he spend his weekend.


Journalist Mulbah was arrested on ground of publishing a news article in which Mr. Bility was accused of offering US$1.5 million contract to his son Sidike Bility (via a written communication carrying the signature of LFA President) for the construction of FIFA technical center in Careysburg, outside Monrovia.


Despite efforts made by SWAL former President and current leadership to secure the release of their colleague failed as he is expected to appear in court today.


Meanwhile, Cletus Smith has being appointed by the LFA as the new head coach of the senior national team the Lone Star of Liberia and will be assisted by Kelvin Sebwe as deputy coach.


Coach Smith first real task will be against Senegal and Angola in the World Cup Qualifier next month and the Africa Cup of Nation’s Qualifier against Namibia.
