A concerned youth of Bong County has cautioned the group calling itself Native whistleblowers to desist from assassinating the character of Senator Jewel Howard-Taylor and other prominent citizens of the county.
Mr. Joehandsome Weahweah said the act of engaging in negative propaganda to attack the integrity of individuals who have contributed immensely to the county’s development does not only undermine the growth, but also has the propensity to brew disunity among the citizens.
Mr. Weahweah told the In Profile Daily recently that it was unfortunate for the group to engage into a smear campaign against Senator Taylor whom according to him, has done remarkably well by contributing to all aspects of the county’s development initiatives.
He said since the rumor broke out that Senator Taylor will likely contest the forthcoming mid senatorial election, the so-called Native Whistleblowers have begun tarnishing the hard earned character of the Senator, claiming that she has done nothing to improve the livelihood of the people.
Mr. Weahweah said the group’s claim is far from reality as the Senator has undertaken several development projects in the county including the empowerment of women and youth.
He further indicated that despite the travelling ban imposed on Senator Taylor, she has made tremendous efforts to the socio-political and economic environment of Liberia through legislative enactments for the betterment of the nation and its people.
Mr. Weahweah said the best thing all well- meaning citizens of the county should now do is to join in the advocacy for the United Nations to lift the travel ban on the Senator to enable her lobby and bring partners that will help in pushing the county development agenda of Bong forward instead of spreading falsehood about her.
