A PROPOSAL HAS reportedly been placed before the Liberian Senate requesting it to make provision for USD $60,000 in support of the football team organized at the Upper House.

THE SPONSORS OF the proposal who are also members of the Senate believe that sport is the unifier and as such the Senate’s football team must be supported from the budget.

HOWEVER, THE PROPOSAL remains spinning in the air given the opposing views of some members who feel that that is not proper for now.

WE GO ALONG with those who oppose the proposal simply because it doesn’t  suit the expectation of the people-the staffers in particular whose salaries and benefits trail far below those  of their bosses-the senators.

OUR UNDERSTANDING IS that one senator earns pretty close to USD 8,000 a month in salaries and other assorted benefits while those who work with them make far below.
HENCE, WE THINK such proposal should be withdrawn and replaced by that which would see increment in staffers’ salaries and benefits.

WE DO AGREE sport unifies but the unification as it generally perceived begins with the capacity of the individual persons in society.

UNIFICATION HAS ITS origin in the individual happiness of the people, the low income earners.

YES, SPORT UNIFIES only when people are economically capacitated to make contributions to society. Sport unifies only when national wealth is equally distributed to create joy and pleasure among the people in the society.

WE THINK THE Senate should be considering the agenda of graduating from the mindset of taking lion’s share and incorporating the general interest of the people who, too, have the compelling responsibilities to send their children to school, seek medical attention, provide daily bread for others.

OBVIOUSLY WHEN BUSINESS is done, pleasure holds.
