FIVE SENIOR STAFFERS at the Ministry of Education are reportedly being paid US$5,000 each a month for professional services being allegedly rendered the ministry.
THE SO-CALLED professional services include professional staff technician, Information technology Advisor, Professional Instruction Trainer, Monitoring and Evaluation specialist, the and Operation and Administrative Advisor.
THE INFORMATION WAS made available by the Internal Audit Division of the ministry recently. However, since the information leaked to the notice of the public, authorities at Ministry of Education have yet to deny or confirm. They seem to be adopting the strategy of remaining mute while the issue dies down.
WHEN OUR INVESTIGATION team contacted some of those involved they boastfully said they were not answerable to anyone except the president whose confidence they enjoy.
SINCE THEN BLIND eyes seem to be given the case even though it involves the tax payers’ money which is intended for social developments in the country that remains dangling in darkness coupled with abject poverty.
WE THINK THE ministry should come up and clear the air because there is a saying that where there is smoke there is bound to be a fire.
WE TOO ARE concerned like the injured society that suffers from rampant acts of corruption, nepotism, favoritism and the abuse of power at almost all levels.
WE THINK THE president should come out to do something about this issue which seems to be the established way of life thereby tarnishing the image of the president and the government.
LET THE PRESIDENT do something about this ugly act that does not augur well for a society that is expected to grow and develop.
LET THE PRESIDENT not allow herself from being used as shield by those with evil intent to rob the nation of its hard earned money.
