A BRAND NEW political, social and economic  year  took  its turn yesterday January  1, 2013  and was  celebrated nationally throughout the length and breadth of the countryin every town, village and city as a year of new prospects. Traditionally, the nation and its people would make a resolution or vow to turn a new page and insert a new vision, mission and a national agenda basically aimed at enhancing social and economic growth and development.

ON THE CONTRARY, however, these vows and resolutions often made by the people including politicians don’t see their practical reality as expected. For instance, the lack of good road network, the lack of adequate food, water and electricity remain the common problem facing the nation every year thereby contributing to the frequency of poverty that has and continues to undermine peaceful social and economic lives of the citizens.

POLITICAL AS WELL as religious inspiration also has also helped in raising the hope of the people as it relates to social and economic sanctuary. In short, the tendency of hoping and desiring for something nationally worthy is one thing and pursuing set goals in practical manner in the interest of social and economic growth and development for the citizens is another.

AS WE ENTER the New Year it is our hope and prayer that we, as nation and people would change and depart from the old habit of hoping for something and not working towards achieving it..It is our hope that those in authority would prove to be true to their vows including equally distributing national wealth to enhance good social living for the citizens.

IT IS OUR hope that those in advantaged positions would to steer the ship of state in line with the doctrine of nationalism as opposed that of individualism which has and continues to undermine the general social and economic interest of the state and people.

IT IS OUR expectation that those in authority would learn to lift up  Mama Liberia e in the true sense of economic environment  so that the ordinary citizens would share and feel a true sense of belonging in the society as opposed to lifting up a select few.

FOR US WE would remain to be objective in what we report on the basis of truth because truth is the foundation of national growth and development in any civilized society. We would remain to be the promoter of national development through balanced reporting without fear or favor.
