The General Manager of the United Commodities Inc. (UCI), Mr. Sam Faley has stated that his company is committed to the Liberian people by the importation of large quantity of rice in the country.

As stated by Mr. Faley, there have been challenges in the process of rice importation but noted that his entity is still committed to the cause.

The businessman explained that despite the presence of many rice importers, the UCI has been on time when it comes to providing the commodity to the Liberian people and foreign residents to avoid shortage.

He made the comments when honored by Media for Protection of Consumers on Monday at the UCI head office on Bushrod Island.

“I am proud to receive the honor from the group and surprised that some institutions in the country have been observing our operation in the country,” he said.

For his part, Mr. Moses Togbah, as the Executive Director of Media for Protection of Consumers said his group has taken its own time over the year to observe various business institutions in the country and their way of operation.

So, he said, based on all of the observations, the UCI was selected to be honored for its hard work in the country.

He said the institution was able to employ many Liberians to help other relatives.

The UCI Deputy General Manager, Marjanne W. Baker hailed the media group for the observation and expressed appreciation for being the best rice importer in the country.

She promised that the company will keep a good working relationship the people of Liberia.
