The Chairman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), Natty Davis, said the coming in of foreign nationals for the ongoing HLP meeting especially high profile business executives indicates that the country is  safe and ready for more investment.

Mr. Davis spoke in an exclusive interview with In Profile Daily on Wednesday at a business forum held at the Monrovia City Hall in Monrovia.

According to him, after long years of civil unrest in the country and with the pouring in of international and multilateral business organizations who also seek to explore business opportunities, it signifies the significant progress the country has made over the years which have the potential to attract more business investments.

Mr. Davis indicated that with the visit of these international as well as multinational business leaders, it will have a positive impact on the country’s image globally and will further solidify the efforts government has been making over the time to show to the world that Liberia is ready for business and also it has a peaceful and stable environment for doing business.

The NIC Chairman said government will take advantage of this meeting to attract investors in the area of agriculture especially cassava production which according to him, has high demand in China; fishery, transportation (marine and air) so as to increase economic gains for the country.  

Mr. Davis however cautioned would- be investors having interest in investing in the country to do so in a manner and form that will be transparent for both the country and their prospective businesses.
