Pensioners in Liberia have asserted that they have been neglected, describing as 'homicide', the failure of National Government, particularly the National Legislature, to increase their benefits in the budget which is currently before the august body. National Pensioners Association of Liberia (NPAL), Chairman, Mr. Ansumana Zuannah Kamara said their assertion is based on the action of Government, which indicates that they (pensioners) have been despised and neglected, noting that it could lead to their untimely demise, “considering our ages and physically impaired condition to work any longer.”

The Child Protection Advisor working with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) David Moussa Ntambara, says some laws in Liberia, particularly on human-trafficking are obsolete (out of date) and ineffective. As such, David Moussa Ntambara has called on the relevant Liberian authorities and its partners to take more practical and proactive approach in their quest to combat human trafficking in the country.
