A big intercessory prayer program is expected to take in Tubmanburg City, Bomi County this Sunday, September 5, 2010, Tubmanburg new Acting City Mayor, Rebecca Boakai has disclosed. Making the disclosure recently in Tubmanburg, Madam Boakai noted that the intercessory prayer is intended to beseech God's guidance as they (new administrators of the county) begin the county's affairs.

The Liaison Officer for Nimba Nurses and Midwives Association of Liberia has threatened to close down health centers in the county that will not regularize their licenses. Making the disclosure recently to In Profile Nimba correspondent at his Karnwee Clinic Mr. Rudeem Sendolo said the exercise will deal with violators because he said the renewal of license has begun in the county. He revealed that two private clinics in Saclepea-Mah have been short listed for closure until further notice, due to their failure to comply with the mandate.

The Buu-Yao Development Council (BYKDEC), a civil society organization in Nimba County has lauded Namibians and other politicians for the allotment of seat to the district for representation. Buu-Yao, one of the remote districts in the county has a population of 40,007 people according the 2008 National Housing and Population Census. The district has 45 towns but lacks basic social services.

Reports from Salala, Bong County say two police officers identified as Wilson Wiles and Harry Nepleh have brutalized a man only identified as Tedee in the Town. According to our reporter, who also witnessed the police alleged action, the incident occurred around 8pm Sunday, February 28, 2010 at a local entertainment center in Salala following a heated argument between Tedee and workers of a non-government organization (NGO) called Landmine Action. Officer Harry Nepleh is said to be the Chief of Operations for the Salala Police Detachment and was said to be at the entertainment center during Tedee's argument with the NGO workers. Over fifteen thousand (15,000) Citizens of Weajue Town in Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County are said to be at risk due to the lack of safe drinking water and proper sanitary condition in the area. Speaking to the IN PROFILE DAILY recently in the area, Weajue Town Chief, Mr. Konah Vanjah pointed out that the town lacks hand pumps and latrines facilities. As such, Town Chief Vanjah said, they use a nearby creek commonly called "God Bless You" and any other unsafe water sources to fetch water, while surrounding bushes and creeks are used as toilet.
